Last night in Santiago de Compostela

Today was a pretty relaxed one. We didn’t need to drop our bags off before 9 so there was no pressure. We did however have to  do some laundry before anything else. A really great breakfast here at the Hotel Altair and we headed about 200 metres to the laundry. Done quickly and then wandered around the shops and saw all the new walkers coming in for the day and filling the Cathedral Square to get their photos done. We had a few croquettes and Padron peppers for lunch washed down with wine for me and a coke for Russell. A bit more looking around and we are booked in at Hotel Costa Vella as recommended by Glenyce the fantastic travel arranger from Wanderingtheworldworld.

We were thinking there maybe 10 -14 people show up. Matthias from Austria brought his wife Sue, of course Nick and Debbie from Panama, Gera and Hilda from Holland, Erika from Hungary and Andrea and Michael from Germany. All really nice people and A genuine United Nations of friends.  We enjoyed a boozy afternoon and night as we kicked on back at Nick and Debbie’s hotel.

It’s now Tuesday morning and we will be picking up our car and driving to Finisterre and the heading to Gijon on the coast of northern Spain.
