Vigo to Redondela and our Accom in Hostal Antolin in Caesantes.

Last night after a couple of frothies we went back to our hotel because our accom included dinner. We sat in the bar which was located in the foyer of the NH Collection Hotel and there was about 50 people , probably all in their 70’s and Spanish but they were doing sign language to each other . They were all non verbal and unable to hear. It was quite incredible to have the big bar crowded but not a lot of sound. We both wondered if sign language was universal and these people from Spain could communicate with people from France, Australia and perhaps China. It would make things simple. But no, it’s not universal. What a pity for them.

We had a few beers and a wine and our Spanish Barman and waiter was named ………………… you guessed it ….Manuel! And he was dead set like Manuel. ‘Sorry, sorry” he said when he forgot our drinks. “Sorry, sorry” when he forgot to bring the salt and Pepper. By the he forgot our scotch and coke and a rum with ice we decided to pack it in and have that early night I joked about.

This morning I was up, sh….., shaved and showered and Russell was still snoring his head off. I had to wake him in the end otherwise he’d still be sleeping. We murdered a fantastic breakfast at the NH and then headed off. We soon ran into Michael and Andrea from Germany and walked with them for a bit. The trail was high in the hills overlooking a couple of huge bridges and water full of oyster and mussell beds. Great scenery for most of the walk and I hope you can see it from the pictures.

We ran into Nick and Debbie from Panama also and had a chat to them. Debbie invited us to her birthday bash in Santiago de Compostela on Sunday. Seeing as Nick just sold his chain of 100 supermarkets in Panama I reckon it might be a reasonable “gay and hearty”.

We had a bite to eat for lunch in Redondela with Michael and Andrea and then we trudged off to our Hostal Antolin about 4 or 5 ks further on. Our Travel lady from Wandering the World- Glenyce loved this place and said the do the best gin and tonics you can get and it’s great sitting at the front of the joint with one in your mitt watching the water. We didn’t tell her that both Russell and I have been ill on gin as teenagers and haven’t touched the stuff since. Reckon the rum and the scotch could get a run after dinner and wine though.

Adios for now, it’s 25 to 6 and Russell wants to take a stroll ( we only walked 17k earlier today) . He’s cock sparra.
