• Arrived in Vila Praia de Ancora about 1.30 after a reasonably comfortable 19k, mostly through eucalypt forests with lots of hills. It was quite like walking through forests near Bairnsdale except for the style of houses in the region. We ran into a woman from Toronto with a couple of ladies from Cairns, who we met yesterday . She calls me Jeremy and Russell is Brian. Quite a day and when I said Toronto , she said “No it’s Toronna”. Id never heard that before  Bruno Bruderlin and Marion Bruderlin. Then we passed the lovely Vader, who gave

Russell his shell yesterday . She was walking with Felix. We copped a bit of light rain and put up with it but when it got heavier we had to pull out the ponchos. Mines a brown one when put over the backpack I look like Quasimodo. Russel’s using Slats green one . He looked like Wally Gator.

Our hotel last night was fantastic but miles out of the town and way up the top of a mountain. The hotel here is great and right amongst the old town with bars and cafes to keep us occupied . Having said that , we are sitting in the Laundromat drinking Superbock and watching our clothes spin round and round. It’s been over 50 years since Russell’s used one and he was panicking because I didn’t put soap in with the clothes. Ha ha
